Prayer and Exercise – The Ultimate Workout Plan

Prayer and Exercise - The Ultimate Workout Plan 1

Prayer and exercise is a powerful concept. Lets face it. Whenever we mix prayer with anything that we do, we know by faith that the results will work out in our favor. Just as it takes time and effort to become good at whatever we do, it also takes time to develop an enriched prayer life. The target here is to develop a spiritual connection to working out. This is powerful!

While strong willed people with exceptional focus and drive can achieve their goals without prayer, unfortuanately the majority of us does not fall under that category. The good news is that we can achieve the same success with greater benefits!

For now lets focus on working out. It’s no secret that developing a successful workout plan takes drive, determination, focus and solid time management. Sometimes this can be a bit overwhelming for a lot of us. There are distractions (big and small) behind every corner of our lives. People are generally busy as bees and spend the majority of their downtime catching up on rest. With that being said, lets jump right in and develop a fitness program that fits your current lifestyle.

PRAYER AND EXERCISE – DEVELOP A TIME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

I will share with you the system I use to keep on track and make time for the things that are important to me. I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying “there is not enough time in the week to do everything”. Right? Well my schedule plan spans over a two week period.

Grab a sheet of paper and pen and draw a two week calendar (with the days at the top). No need to include dates. This will serve as a revolving 14 day schedule. Leave enough room in the squares to input at least 3 entries.

Then on a separate sheet of paper jot down all the important things you do weekly. For this program to have a high success rate, you might have to give up some non-beneficial activities that eat up a lot of your time. Then jot down some activities you would like to replace those non-beneficial activities with. Now be honest with yourself and enter the most productive entries into the days best for that activity. See a sample here. If you think this system will work for you, feel free to download a template of the form here. Be sure to add times for heart felt prayer.

A successful 2 week schedule should include off time as well as time with your family and love ones. It is important that your new schedule is well balanced. Lets take a deeper dive..

The Power Of Prayer and Exercise

There is power in prayer. Use this power to help you realize your fitness goals as well as other goals you might have in your life. As far as fitness though, you might wanna pray for things like protection before your morning jog, favor to prevent injuries before workouts, the ability to stay focus, guide your steps in all that you do, for discipline towards your dietary habits, a peaceful sleep and increased spirituality are just a few prayer requests.

I suggest praying every time you get a moment to yourself. This will certainly enrich your prayer life. Develop the habit of including the creator in all that you do. Consult with the creator in making decisions from day to day. Ask the most high to “guide my steps”. This will build up your faith and develop a solid foundation with the creator. The power is at your fingertips. Just be sincere. If prayer is new to you and you need help to make the connection, consider reading the book Prayer: Forty Days of Practice.
